Dorset Archives Trust

Overview

The Dorset Archives Trust is a registered charity dedicated to saving and preserving Dorset's documentary heritage, based at the Dorset History Centre in Dorchester — raising funds, running events and engaging the community to protect over 1,000 years of regional history.

Saving Dorset's disappearing history

As a membership charity, the Trust needed a warm, welcoming site that explained its mission and made it easy to support.

The challenge

The site had to tell an emotive heritage story and convert visitors into members, donors and volunteers.

What we built

The Trust didn't choose a partner lightly — we were appointed only after a rigorous selection process. We then designed and built a bespoke website that tells the Trust's story and makes it easy to become a member, donate or get involved, and we keep it maintained.

Jamie is very approachable and patient, he was able to communicate in terms we could easily understand without tech speak/jargon.   This made the process of creating our new website very straightforward.  Motley are amazing at responding to queries and sort out issues really quickly…

The results

An inviting home for the Trust's mission that helps it grow support — as Jacqui Halewood's testimonial reflects.
