Overview
The Square Club is Bournemouth's long-established professional networking club. Founded in 1948, it brings business owners, company directors and senior professionals together over monthly lunches at the Marsham Court Hotel — a members' club built on genuine relationships rather than hard-sell networking.
The challenge
The club needed a website that did justice to its heritage and standing while being easy for the committee to keep current — the calendar of upcoming lunches, membership information and the member directory in particular. The team needed to run it themselves, without technical help.
Our approach
We built the site on the Motley CMS, giving the committee a flexible page builder and an events system that keeps the upcoming-lunches listings current with no technical know-how. Membership enquiries flow straight to the club, and the design balances the club's long heritage with the warm, welcoming, relationship-first tone its members value.
Motley just got it. They took the time to understand the club and gave us a website we’re genuinely proud of — and one we can actually run ourselves. Nothing was too much trouble.
The results
The committee can now keep events, membership details and news up to date in minutes, and the site presents the club with the professionalism and warmth its members expect — a fitting home for an organisation with more than 75 years of history.
